HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Bethel jumped on top with a run in the top of the first inning, but that lead would be short lived.
  • Spring Arbor plated four runs in the home half of the first – highlighted by a three-run double by Kyle Harris.
  • The Cougars' offense continued to roll in the second inning as Tyler Reed belted a two-run homer over the left field fence to extend the SAU lead to 6-2.
  • Christian Davis led off the third inning with his third home run in the last three games. Two batters later, Alex Holley followed suit with a solo shot to left.
  • The Pilots made a pitching change to start the fourth inning, and Jack Driscoll greeted the new hurler with a bomb to left field – the second big fly of his career.
  • Spring Arbor added four more runs in the fifth en route to the victory.
  • Reed was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with three RBI and two runs scored. Over the last five games, Reed has been red-hot hitting .588 (10-for-17) with three homers and 10 RBI.
  • Harris also picked up three hits and three RBI.
  • Brody Harris tossed his third consecutive complete game. Over seven innings of work, the left-hander allowed two runs on five hits while striking out eight batters, which matched his season-high.
