HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ave Maria jumped on top 4-0, scoring three runs in the fourth inning and one in the fifth.
- After being held scoreless through the first six innings, Spring Arbor capitalized for three runs on a pair of Gyrene errors in the seventh.
- The Cougars moved the potential tying run into scoring position in the eighth inning, but the runner was left stranded.
- Emilio Perez went 3-for-4 at the plate while Evan Lorey collected two hits in four at-bats. Jack Driscoll and Chris Triplett were each credited with an RBI.
- Sam Memmelaar surrendered four runs on six hits in a complete game effort while striking out nine batters.
