Box Score 2 LAKE WALES, Fla. – The Spring Arbor University baseball team dropped a pair of games on day two of the Warner University Invitational. The Cougars fell to Siena Heights 7-5 in game one before suffering a 6-3 setback to host Warner in the nightcap.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Spring Arbor and Siena Heights were tied 1-1 after two innings, but the Saints capitalized for three runs on three SAU errors in the third.
- The Cougars trailed 7-3 entering the seventh, but refused to go down without a fight. Vincent Herschberger and Danilo Leon reached base to start the inning. Herschberger would cross the plate on an RBI groundout by Jacob King, and Leon scored on a base hit by Josiah Kitchen. SAU brought the go-ahead run to the plate, but was unable to do any more damage.
- Spring Arbor was limited to five hits in the contest with King and Kitchen recording two hits apiece.
- Zachariah Devon suffered the loss giving up seven runs in 5.1 innings of work. Chris Triplett made his debut of the mound tossing 0.2 innings of relief with two strikeouts.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- Spring Arbor battled back from two different deficits against Warner, but the Royals pushed across three runs in the sixth inning to escape with the win.
- Trailing 3-1, the Cougars scored twice in the bottom of the fifth to tie the score. A sacrifice fly from Francisco Ondina allowed Jack Driscoll to cross the plate, and two batters later Leon lifted a sac fly that brought home Triplett.
- Warner answered immediately, however, scoring three times on three hits in the sixth.
- Driscoll finished the game going 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Ondina drove in a pair of runs.
- Gavin Harris allowed six runs on nine hits with six strikeouts over six innings of work. Herschberger added a scoreless inning of relief while fanning two.
UP NEXT
Spring Arbor will wrap up play in the Warner Invitational on Saturday, Mar. 10 against Lourdes University (8-7). First pitch is scheduled for 9 a.m. at Avon Park.
