Box Score 2 SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University baseball team dropped both games of its Crossroads League doubleheader against Huntington University on Friday at Hank Burbridge Field. The Foresters took game one 7-2 before posting a 4-1 win in the nightcap.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Spring Arbor grabbed an early lead in the opener, scoring twice in the first inning. Chris Triplett, Jack Driscoll and Francisco Ondina started the inning with three consecutive hits to load the bases. Triplett scored on an RBI groundout by Vincent Herschberger, and Driscoll would come around on a base hit by Peyton Harding.
- Huntington evened the score with two runs in the third inning before grabbing the lead with three runs in the fourth.
- After the rough start, HU starting pitcher Connor West settled in and limited SAU to just one hit over the next five frames while fanning nine batters.
- Duncan Patterson suffered the loss surrendering six runs while striking out six. Herschberger struck out three in 1.2 innings of relief.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- Huntington plated four runs in the first three innings of game two. That proved to be plenty of run support for HU starter Colton Punches, who tossed all nine innings.
- After being held scoreless through six innings, Spring Arbor was able to breakthrough with a run in the seventh when Evan Lorey scored on a wild pitch.
- Looking to rally in the ninth, James Hall singled to lead off the frame, but would be erased off the base paths on a double play as the Foresters held on for the win.
- Triplett collected two of SAU's eight hits while also Lorey doubled.
- Sam Memmelaar took the loss allowing four runs over six innings of work and striking out six. Nick Carroll threw three innings of scoreless relief, registering four strikeouts.
UP NEXT
Saturday's series finale with Huntington was postponed, and rescheduled for May 1. The Cougars will now turn their attention to the University of Saint Francis (11-26, 8-10 CL) when they host USF on Tuesday, Apr. 17. Game one of the doubleheader starts at 1 p.m.
