Box Score 2 SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University baseball team completed the three-game series sweep of Grace College on Monday. The Cougars won both ends of the doubleheader, taking game one 11-1 and hanging on for a 7-6 victory in game two.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Grace committed five errors in the first three innings of Monday's opener and Spring Arbor took full advantage, pushing seven runs across to take control of the game.
- Meanwhile, Jon Williams was terrific on the mound for SAU. Williams blanked the Lancers through the first five innings before finally getting on the scoreboard in the sixth.
- A Conner Lengerich two-run home run highlighted a four-run sixth for Spring Arbor.
- The Cougars pounded out 14 hits. Chris Triplett, Vincent Herschberger, Duncan Patterson and Josiah Kitchen posted two hits apiece while Brant Mast recorded two RBI's and Jacoby Dale scored three times.
- Williams allowed just one run over 5.1 innings of work to earn the win. He matched his season-high with seven strikeouts.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- Grace tallied the game's first run, scoring in the top of the first inning. It was the first time the Lancers had led during the series.
- The lead was short-lived, however, as Spring Arbor scored three times in the home half of the third. The Cougars opened the frame with three consecutive extra-base hits, including a solo homer by Triplett – his team-leading seventh of the season.
- SAU added to its lead with four more runs in the fifth inning. The Cougars loaded the bases with no outs, and manufactured runs with a Grace error, a sacrifice fly and a suicide squeeze.
- The Lancers battled back and cut the deficit to one in the eighth inning. Gavin Harris worked his way out of a jam in the eighth before slamming the door shut in the ninth to earn the save.
- Lengerich was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two stolen bases to lead the offense.
- Zachariah Devon picked up the win going 6.2 innings allowing four runs on six hits with six strikeouts. Harris tossed the last 2.1 innings surrendering two runs while fanning three.

Spring Arbor welcomes Indiana Wesleyan University (8-20, 2-4 CL) to Hank Burbridge Field this weekend for a three-game Crossroads League series. The Cougars and Wildcats will play a single nine-inning game Friday, Mar. 29 starting at 3 p.m. and a doubleheader Saturday, Mar. 30 starting at 1 p.m.
