Box Score SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University baseball team came out on the winning end of a pitching-dominated game against Crossroads League rival Indiana Wesleyan University 3-1 on Thursday at Hank Burbridge Field.
Spring Arbor pitchers Duncan Patterson and Gavin Harris completely shut down the IWU offense. The duo combined to allow just one run while scattering six hits over nine innings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Spring Arbor jumped on Indiana Wesleyan's ace, Jon Young, early, plating two runs in the first inning. Following a one-out single by Chris Triplett, Conner Lengerich smashed a double to right-center field allowing Triplett to race all the way home. Two batters later, Jacob King drove in Lengerich with a single up the middle.
- Patterson was dominant on the mound. The senior right-hander tossed five scoreless frames to start the game before the Wildcats managed to push a run across in the sixth inning to get within two, 3-1.
- After allowing the run in the sixth, Patterson and Harris held IWU hitless over the final three innings.
- Triplett and King finished with two hits apiece to pace the offense. Josiah Kitchen went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
- Patterson pitched seven innings giving up one run on six hits with three strikeouts. Harris added two scoreless innings of relief to earn the save.

Spring Arbor and Indiana Wesleyan conclude the series with a doubleheader on Saturday, Mar. 30 at Hank Burbridge Field. Game one of the twin bill will start at 1 p.m.
