Box Score ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University baseball team earned a 7-4 victory over Rochester College in a non-league contest on Wednesday afternoon.
With the win, the Cougars have posted wins in six of their last seven games.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Rochester pushed two runs across in the bottom of the first inning, and threatened for more, but right fielder Zach Kraabel threw out a runner attempting to score to end the inning.
- Kraabel kick-started a four-run second inning for Spring Arbor after opening the frame with a leadoff single, and he would later score on a successful suicide squeeze. Vincent Herschberger and Jacob King would also add RBI hits in the inning.
- The Cougars added to their lead in the fifth. Kraable got things started, once again, with a leadoff triple. Two batters later, he would score on an RBI groundout by Josiah Kitchen.
- The Warriors would get within one, 5-4, after plating single runs in the fifth and sixth innings.
- SAU added an insurance run in the seventh on a squeeze bunt by Steve Salow, and Evan Lorey touched home in the eighth on a groundout by Conner Lengerich.
- Rochester threatened in the eighth, but Lorey ended the home team's rally by gunning down a runner at the plate to help preserve the lead.
- Herschberger took over on the mound in the ninth and slammed the door shut, retiring the side in order to earn the save.
- Kraabel and Chris Triplett recorded three hits apiece to pace the offense. Kraabel scored two runs while Triplett had an RBI, a run scored and two stolen bases.
- Lorey earned the win on the mound. He tossed two innings of relief, allowing one earned run while striking out four baters. Kraabel worked two scoreless innings with a pair of strikeouts.  
 
 
UP NEXT
The Cougars return to Crossroads League play this weekend with a three-game series against No. 20 Taylor University (24-11, 4-7 CL) in Upland, Indiana. The first game of the series is scheduled for Friday, Apr. 5 at 5 p.m. followed by a doubleheader on Saturday, Apr. 6.
