Box Score 2 UPLAND, Ind. – A third inning grand slam by Peyton Harding propelled the Spring Arbor University baseball team to a 6-3 victory over Taylor University in the series finale on Saturday at Winterholter Field.
Taylor claimed game one of Saturday's twin bill, defeating Spring Arbor 16-4.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Taylor scored in every inning but the first. Leading 7-1, the Trojans put the game out of reach with a seven spot in the fifth inning, which was capped by a three-run home run by TU's Brian Fields.
- Evan Lorey went 3-for-4 to lead the Cougars offensively with a double and a run scored. Jake Ellis hit his first home run of the season, a three-run shot in the seventh inning.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- With the score tied 1-1 in the third inning, Harding gave Spring Arbor the lead for good with a grand slam – his second home run of the season.
- The Cougars added to their lead in the fifth. Jake Ellis doubled to left field to lead off the inning. He would come around to score on a Trojan error.
- Taylor closed the gap to three, 6-3, with two runs in the sixth inning, but that was as close as the Trojans would get.
- Chris Triplett, Conner Lengerich and Brant Mast posted two hits apiece while Harding drove in four runs.
- Zachariah Devon and Gavin Harris combined to hold Taylor to just two hits in the contest. Devon earned the win on the mound allowing three runs on one hit over five innings of work. Harris earned the save with four solid innings of relief surrendering one run on one hit with four strikeouts.
