Baseball completes series sweep of Brescia

OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Spring Arbor University baseball team completed the three-game sweep over Brescia University with an 8-2 win on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Freshman pitcher Alex Stephens was outstanding on the mound, tossing four scoreless innings to start the game. Stephens did not allow a hit in his four innings of work and struck out six batters.
  • Spring Arbor held a slim 3-2 lead after eight innings, but broke the game wide open with five runs in the ninth.
  • Nine different Cougars recorded a hit in the game, including Brandon Haynes, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI's and a run scored.
  • Dylan Trick got the win on the mound and Gavin Harris earned his first save of the season.

 
 

UP NEXT

Spring Arbor will begin its annual Spring Break trip with a three-game series against Crossroads League foe Mount Vernon Nazarene University (7-1) at Warner University in Lake Wales, Florida on Feb. 28-29.
