Box Score LAKE WALES, Fla. – The Spring Arbor University baseball team captured the 35th annual Warner University Invitational title after defeating Mount Vernon Nazarene University 4-3 on Saturday afternoon in the championship game.
The Cougars finished the tournament with a perfect 5-0 record, and have now won seven of their last eight games, improving their record to 13-4 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- An RBI double by Brandon Haynes gave Spring Arbor a 1-0 lead in the first inning. The Cougars would tack on another run in the second to double their lead.
- Mount Vernon Nazarene trailed 2-1 after four innings, but pulled ahead 3-2 after scoring two runs in the fifth.
- SAU answered with two runs in the sixth. A sacrifice fly by Nick Carroll tied the game and, later in the inning, a base hit by Zach Kraabel, who was named the MVP of the tournament, brought home Evan Zigler to put the Cougars back on top.
- Cade Kontny started on the mound for Spring Arbor and tossed three innings allowing just one unearned run. Vincent Herschberger pitched 2.1 innings of scoreless relief to earn the win.
