SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Spring Arbor University's
Brenden Phillips has been named the Crossroads League Baseball Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
Phillips sparked the Cougar lineup in a four-game sweep of Bethel University, hitting .500 in 12 at bats and driving in 10 runs. The freshman hit the first two home runs of his career, including a grand slam, roped two doubles and added a stolen base to go with four runs scored.
On the season, Phillips is batting .311 and ranks among the team leaders with 24 runs scored.
Spring Arbor welcomes Grace Christian University to Hank Burbridge Field on Wednesday, Apr. 9 for a pair of games beginning at 4 p.m.
