SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Spring Arbor University's Brenden Phillips has been named the Crossroads League Baseball Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
 
Phillips sparked the Cougar lineup in a four-game sweep of Bethel University, hitting .500 in 12 at bats and driving in 10 runs. The freshman hit the first two home runs of his career, including a grand slam, roped two doubles and added a stolen base to go with four runs scored.
 
On the season, Phillips is batting .311 and ranks among the team leaders with 24 runs scored.
