SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Members of the Spring Arbor University men's and women's track and field teams competed Friday at the Len Paddock Open, hosted by the University of Michigan, looking for final qualifying marks and improved times ahead of the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships.
The Cougars came away with several standout performances, highlighted by
Kylie Brown securing a national qualifying mark and
Quintin Williams breaking two school records.
Brown punched her ticket to nationals in the 200 meters, hitting the NAIA B standard with a school-record time of 24.48 while finishing fifth overall in the event. The performance broke her own previous SAU record.
Williams also delivered a historic day on the track. In the 100 meters, he broke his own school record by one-hundredth of a second, clocking a 10.43 to finish second overall.
Williams also shattered the SAU program record in the 200 meters, posting a time of 21.29.
Spring Arbor will next compete at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, scheduled for May 20-22 at Karl Straus Track in Asheville, North Carolina.
