Jeremy Patterson distinguished himself as one of the most versatile and accomplished student-athletes in Spring Arbor University history, excelling as a two-sport standout in basketball and baseball from 1994-98. On the basketball court, he scored 1,470 career points, ranking 24th all-time, and pulled down 851 rebounds, good for ninth in program history. He played a pivotal role on the 1997 team that won 29 games and advanced to the Elite Eight, finishing his career with 85 total victories. A respected leader, Patterson served as team captain for men's basketball in 1996 and 1997, earned WHAC All-Conference honors in both the 1996-97 and 1997-98 seasons, and was named an NCCAA All-American in 1997. His teams made multiple national tournament appearances, including the 1995 NAIA national tournament and a 1997 NAIA Elite Eight run.
On the diamond, Patterson was equally impactful, helping Spring Arbor compile 108 wins during his career, highlighted by the 1997 NCCAA national championship and a WHAC regular-season title in 1995. He earned multiple WHAC All-Conference honors, including recognition in 1996, 1997, and 1998, along with NCCAA All-American honors in 1997. Jeremy also served as team captain for baseball in 1996 and 1997, exemplifying leadership across both programs.
Academically, he was a multi-time Dean's List honoree, and athletically, he was part of Spring Arbor teams that never experienced a losing season in either basketball or baseball from 1993-97. His legacy is defined not only by championships and accolades, but by consistent excellence, leadership, and a lasting impact on SAU athletics.
